Teaching
The Teaching Unit is a specialised didactics department for health sciences. Its credo is science-led teaching with special consideration of the didactic challenges in the health sciences, such as the knowledge explosion, digitalisation, social competence, patient safety, burnout in health professions and many more.
It draws up guidelines for teaching, learning and examination on the basis of educational science findings (e.g. BEME - best evidence medical education) and competence profiles (e.g. CanMeds, NKLM or profiles), is responsible for the teaching and examination methods of the KL study programmes and continuously develops them further. It conducts personnel development measures in teaching (including the didactic academisation of teaching hospitals) and maintains quality assurance measures (e.g. examination methodology). In didactically complex areas of responsibility (skills lab, e-learning or MC/OSCE examinations), it is also operationally active in the curricula (e.g. organising and chairing examination question editorial meetings, compiling and evaluating examinations, planning practical examination courses).
