The Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology on the Krems campus at Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences (KL) offer academic education combined with practical instruction and innovative teaching methods.
Structure and course of study
The Psychology programme is divided into a three-year Bachelor’s degree and a two-year Master’s degree that builds upon it. Completion of the Bachelor’s degree is a requirement for the Master’s degree and may enable direct admission to Master’s degree programmes in Psychotherapy in Germany. With its two main focuses on clinical psychology and on occupational, organisational and business psychology, the Master’s degree in Psychology offers comprehensive training for the two largest fields in psychology as a profession.
Objectives of the Psychology programme
The KL’s Psychology programme is training a new generation of psychologists. Thanks to the modern curriculum, which includes a large practical element, students receive a grounding in the key skills essential for the profession, delivered in small groups. The course teaches scientific, human and social science approaches and combines theory and practice from the very outset.

I’m in my first semester of the Masters programme in Psychology at KL. All of the teachers place great importance on their lessons. Right now, we’re working through the Neuropsychology module and are discussing a lot of application examples, which makes the lectures very interesting. Although the academic term is well under way, I still have enough time to enjoy life in Krems. What do I particularly like about my degree course? Being in a position to benefit from the expertise and knowledge of the lecturers and learning from their experiences is very important to me.
