Influence of a Concomitant Medial Meniscus Injury on Knee Joint Function
... and Osteoarthritis Presence after Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
Recent publication
The Division of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Krems University Hospital, in collaboration with a Viennese specialist sports and traumatology clinic, investigated knee health 10 years after rupture and surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament. The researchers used various questionnaires to assess the knee health and complaints of patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. They compared two groups: In the first group, the anterior cruciate ligament was reconstructed after a tear without meniscus injury. The second study group had a meniscus rupture in addition to the cruciate ligament injury.
