Scholarships and Loans

Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences aims to make its study programmes accessible to all prospective students with the help of scholarships and other forms of financial assistance.

Öffentliche Studienbeihilfe (study grants)

Study grants are available to students at private universities in Austria, and all Austrian students have the right to apply for one under the Studienförderungsgesetz (Student Support Act).

Lower Austrian provincial government grants

The government of Lower Austria awards grants to students who are resident in the province of Lower Austria and who meet the financial or academic eligibility criteria. Grants cover a maximum of 50 percent of tuition fees.

As part of a policy to ensure adequate levels of medical care and sufficient numbers of healthcare professionals in the future, the government of Lower Austria operates an additional financial assistance scheme for graduates of the Karl Landsteiner University to encourage them to stay in the province. Graduates who take up a position in a hospital operated by a legal entity of the Lower Austrian government, or who become a community-based doctor in the province can receive a grant of up to 75 percent if the difference between their tuition fees and study grant is financed by a loan taken out at market rates which has a minimum of six years left to run when they begin their careers.

The application for KL scholarships has to be made using an online-system.
For application you have to sign up first at the online-registration.
